CLOVER CLOVER is a cake shop in a residential area of a Tokyo suburb.
It has a small shop space, only 25 square meters, so we tried to design in a solid experience within the space of only a few steps, not just a surface operation.
We hung 14 triangle panels across the ceiling and wall, each with a unique color.
They loop like an arc from the right side to the left, crossing the space diagonally, and ambiguously partition the space into two areas.
The colors of these panels shift gradually from a cool green to a warm green and through yellow at the top.
The view from outside is quite eye-catching because of their symbolic arc shape; however, seeing them from the inside reveals only an ambiguous impression, just like colors floating before your eyes.
We aim to create a space that, like the flow of background music accompanying our activity, somehow stays in the memory.
