This project is the interior of a women’s clothing shop.
There is no clear line of movement in this shop. There is only the continuation of ‘places’.
Here, ‘place’ is not constructed arbitrarily, but as a central set of nested racks rotates around the centre, apertures emerge, created by their varied orientation and placement. The experience of walking through this shop is much like when strolling through a forest grove. Now we are in one ‘place’, and then we are in another ‘place'. Moving from one open space to another is a progression of weaving through apertures.
The sensation of moving through this shop is much like being surrounded by trees and foliage; completely unlike a normal shopping experience, we feel the shop has gained a new quality of enjoyment.
